-Charles Richards
6:04pm-
Courtney came to see our apartment and talk business and school and chicken waffles. Brought some pastries too!
Just in time for brunch.
7:05pm-
Walking to church.
I always forget it's on the opposite side of the park. Dang nature.
8:44pm-
Couldn't buy the sermon cd cause I only have a hundred and they didn't have a way to tell if it was counterfeit. Ha!

“A fight is not won by one punch or kick. Either learn to endure or hire a bodyguard.”

7:20pm-
At the movies to see Kick Ass with shay and chips and a liter of cherry coke and candy.
11:40pm-
Dan's here.
They're trying to figure out where everyone is. We better end up somewhere fun...
2:31am-
Walking home from 120th- east Harlem. I half hope somebody tries to mug me....
3:07am-
Home now and no one tried to mug me.
I guess I'll have to eat some of this mushroom casserole and make up stories about if someone DID.

~Robert Brault
2:46pm-
Walking through the neighborhood with Queen in my ears looking for the post office. Elementary school just let out, so I fit right in.
3:31pm-
Mailed a package and finally signed the key deposit form.
5:10pm-
Finally found the IRS building!
Of course... They close at 4:30.
5:25pm-
Two people in 5 minutes just asked me for directions. I guess I'm starting to look like a natural.
4:41am-
Just finished the last few episodes of Summer Heights High.
Instant favorite.
I'm a new Chris Lilley fan.

5:22am-
Michael got locked out of his apt. So he's here now chilling with us.
6:38am-
Shay went out to get food. Came bag with a sausage sandwich and coffee. Perfect.
Now I think I'm going to bed.
So I guess I'll start a new day.

"A successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him."
~David Brinkley
2:51pm-
After getting a FB message from Max saying something like we 'stole his stuff' and he doesn't want to have to 'inform the police' so to bring it back right away. etc..
(We DO accidentally have his microwave.)
So I replied pretty much saying -
1) get over yourself.
2) call the NYC police over a misunderstanding...? About a $30 microwave..??? Ha..! Ok!
And 3) settle down. i'm bringing it back right now.
Then I made some coffee, turned on some music and was finally thankful for whatever character trait it is in me that makes all mothers and most authority figures naturally like me.
5:11pm-
Microwwave: Delivered.
With only the statement:
"I even cleaned it out. Cause WE don't live like slobs."
6:10pm-
Bought a Chinese pear. It's big, not shaped like a pair, very juicy and tastes kinda watered down..
7:48pm-
On my way in i met shay on the stairs on his way out. Cause we live in the same house. So, that's cool.
Also- finally got a mirror...

12:11am-
Just realized it's after 12 and I'm in here banging around putting a shelf together...
Update:
Shelf together and being used as a temporary night stand.
I love my room.
I wish sage and race could come see....
2:15am-
Made some tomato soup and sitting down to watch a movie..
People I've seen today:
Regina Spektor. Greg from MuteMath. Stan Lee. Zachary Quinto (the guy who plays Sylar/Spock)... Or at least they looked exactly like them....

The supreme accomplishment is to blur the line between work and play.
~Arnold Toynbee
9:14am-
Today being my first day of school of course I had several dreams about colleges and work and geting places on time. But don't worry. I made it there in all of them.
*In one, A girl pretended to fall in love with me (and I fell for it) only so that every day I would park her car for her and she could get to class on time. Guess i won't ever be able to trust a girl in a pink convertible now.
10:24am-
Just helped a French or Russian couple find the world trade center sight. "yeah, that's it right behind you."
10:55am-
First minute of first day. Now.
11:05am-
First project: read script.

3:16pm-
Finished.
Now time to learn about grip stuff.
3:08pm-
Coffee and doughnut break.
6:15pm-
On my way home to put my home together!!!
12:00am-
Finished putting most of the stuff in our place together. This is what it looks like so far.
My room:
(just a Bed)

Living room:
(Desk, couch, two tables, three chairs and a rug.)

Oh, and what our kitchen looks like now.

12:58am - 1:31am-
I like when my friends call me at 1 in the morning. (Being serious.)
Just the fact that I have those kind of friends.
2:46am-
Scourged the neighborhood for something to eat. Not much was open. We settled on buying some chips and cans of chili.
4:10am-
First time to sleep in our own rooms in our own beds....!?

Waste your money and you're only out of money, but waste your time and you've lost a part of your life.
~Michael Leboeuf
11:20am-
I made myself get up... Stumbled into the kitchen and made some coffee in zombie mode..
And now measuring walls and spaces before we head to ikea to spend a lot of money.
1:17pm-
Leftover tuna sub for breakfast.
bleh..
3:14pm-
Found our way to ikea.
9:08pm-
After shopping, making lists, picking colors and styles and debating price vs form vs function and ending up with 4 flat carts and a shopping cart full, we finally stepped out of ikea.
And Whoa. Ooh man..
I did not mean to spend that much money.
9:16pm-
Shay decided to carry his rug home. So we'd at least have SOMETHING to show for our long day of shopping.
9:44pm-
While in the subway Shay realized he grabbed the dark blue rug instead of the black. After throwing it down and kicking it, he finally just threw it away.

11:57pm-
Just learned that I spent a little over $25,000 in a week.
When I have money, I get rid of it quickly, lest it find a way into my heart.

6:24am-
I woke up and I'm perfectly awake.
I'd stay up, but what am I gonna do with 6 extra hours of day...??
11:13am-
It's good to have your own place and to be able to wake up and turn on some music and make coffee and not worry about your lame roommate.
11:38am-
This is me drinking coffee at about noon on the fire escape. I call it, 'Morning Coffee on the Balcony'.

2:14pm-
About to meet with my broker and talk business. Better stop for a vile of instant brain activating energy liquid.
2:48pm-
This place is legit. Just to wait for the guy they put me in my own conference room and offered me some coffee...

4:03pm-
Just talked to my broker. I wish I had Weston here to tell me what he thinks of the guy...
Either way, I think it went well.

~Doug Larson
9:33am-
Up and sleepy and heading out to meet someone at 9:30.
9:41am-
Watching an Asian girl eat some Asian food on the train. She's one of the few people who doesn't look gross eating.
1:01pm-
After meeting Ellen, getting coffee, walking, buying race a birthday present and walking some more, were back at HOME. Showing Ellen, our first guest ever) how cool our house is gonna be next time.
3:31pm-
Just bought more coat hangers off the street. Way cheaper than target.
3:51pm-
Just robbed max of all of courtneys things that he's going to take for granted as soon as he realizes they're gone. Such as her sound system, microwave, half the dishes, coffee maker and more.
4:55pm-
Just got it all back home. And of course the first thing I'm going to do is clean out the microwave and set the clock.

8:20pm-
This time I tried to carry an A/C about 17 blocks. But those suckers are heavy! So I gave in and called a cab.
Rest of the night pm-
-Tore apart the bathroom trying to get the shower curtain hooks to work. They didnt. Shay insisted on getting a certain kind of curtain hooks that wont go on the curtain rod.
-Draped the curtain over the rod so i could shower. Of course it fell halfway through the shower.
-Explored a few blocks around the neighborhood in search of a burger. Found a Burger King with a terrible cashier lady.
-Watched a movie.
-Went to bed.

When love is not madness, it is not love.
~Pedro Calderon de la Barca
2:00pm-
Let me relate to you the ups and downs of doing laundry in the city.
It starts out good. The excitement of putting $10 in the change machine and yelling 'JACKPOT!' when all the quarters come pouring out.
Then it goes down from there.
A small load, just socks (a months worth, but still) costs 9 quarters. + $.75 for soap.
Second load- a months worth of almost everything else is 13 quarters. + soap.
And a third small load of red things and jeans that I'm afraid will bleed were another 9 + soap. But! It gets more fun! Because after I loaded this load and poured the powdered soap into the tiny hole on top, I find the quarters won't go down to start the washer. So I switch my clothes to the next machine and then realize.... soap. I tear up the little box the soap came in and try to reach in there and spoon some of the soap out.. But that doesn't work at all. Then I think how strange and incredibly convenient it is that I had put a spoon in my bag this morning after stirring my coffee with it. I bend the spoon and save my soap.
And there goes all of ten dollars.
I cash in my last $5 to dry with, but the jackpot doesn't seem as sweet this time.
4:04pm-
Packing the last of my bags and straightening Courtneys room. Took me twenty minutes to fold the blanket at the end of her bed to get it how I wanted it.
I've got everything of mine out of here. Of course, we'll be back to take some dishes, silverware, a fan, her sound system, the microwave and whatever else she claims is hers that she doesn't need/doesn't want max to have.
Now I have to carry three stuffed bags (that don't roll) all the way up town.
10:36pm-
Went shopping at target for some 'basics'. Pillow. Garbage can. Toothpaste... It was a little less than $200.
The hard part is trying to carry it all home. Up and down stairs and on and off trains.. Second big move across town today.
1:23am-
First night sleeping at our own place.

After 4:+am-
Shay and I had some old fashioned laughs, watched a movie and finally decided to try out our new wood floor beds.

8:10am-
Shay missed his flight by 3 minutes. So he won't be here till 4:30.
1:08pm-
I've got the whole day and were gonna put everything into two hours...??!
Keys up town at 2:30.
Broker meeting downtown at 3.
And Shay at the airport across town at 4:30...?!
1:43pm-
Waiting to go get my keys, did a lesson in my editing text book at the park. I already knew most of that lesson. So, I win.
2:12pm-
Key time has been pushed back to 3:15. I guess I'm rescheduling the meeting thanks to Ishmael Mercado- the worst person on earth I can think of. I'd like to meet him in person.
2:19pm-
Fiiinally got a seat in the subway only for a hugely pregnant lady to walk in just so I can stand right back up.
Dang babies.
3:28pm-
KEEYS!!!!!
(unfortunately they're painting in there for the next few hours.)
4:58pm-
Got Shay and cabbing home. Give him his Welcome Home present of almond M&Ms.
5:41pm-
Back at the house. OUR OWN HOUSE.
6:29pm-
Made a list of thing we need: 'immediately', 'next important' and 'eventually'.
9:32pm-
First and only thing in our fridge is cherry jelly.

11:04pm-
Chris gives shay his house warming present- a bottle of $3 trader joes wine.

-Jonathan Winters
10:44am-
Already up, dressed, on the train and heading up town.
12:04pm-
Just walked around Atlantic records office, printed documents, forged signatures and called the apartment people again.
I'll call em every hour until i get some results if I have to.
2:54pm-
Still no response from the brokers or building manager or anyone.
I decide to go to their office and sit there all day or until they decide to deal with me.
3:50pm-
Guess it kinda worked.
Finally signed some papers and going to get some checks.
8:10pm-
Weird how I signed everything and paid and STILL don't have any keys to the place.......
3:12am-
Fell asleep somehow... Oh well. Going back to sleep.
Tomorrows a busy day.
-HOPEFULLY getting the keys to the apartment in the morn.
-Shays getting here at 1pm. (!!!)
-Meeting with a broker at 3. And
-Getting a call to start school at some point during the day...

12:36pm-
Just detailed my computer. It had gotten pretty grimy.
2:35pm-
Wow. It's actually HOT outside.
Sunny and breezy and hot.
Makes me wanna go swimming.
4:20pm-
Taner called to thank me for the autographed AWK photo. I told him to come to new York. I'd set up a corner in my house house just for him. Itd be a bare mattress (no sheets), an old, stained, crushed velvet couch pillow that use to be baby blue but now is more of a brownish green, and several cases of beer.
He said he'd cry. Because it's everything he ever wanted.
6:44pm-
Left with out my keys!!
Good thing I realized RIGHT when I stepped outside and max was sitting on the couch to let me back in.
7:35pm-
Me and chris at chipotle-
Chris:
"Wanna hear a story...?"
"OK."
"So I was at work today, standing out side of somebodys office, and this guy walks buy and says 'hey, you comb your beard?' I said 'sometimes.' He said 'yeah, me too. But it's not long enough right now.' and I said, 'oh'.
Wanna hear another story...?"
"OK."

Wanna hear another story?"
Me: "ANOTHER story? Or just A story...?"
"do you want to hear a story or not?!"
Me: "Ok...!"
(Ben Kweller came on the radio.)
"So, one time I was sitting in chipotle and Ben kweller came on.
Want to hear a story...?"
"Yeah."
"One time I was sitting in chipotle and Ben Kweller came on. And then I went out and met up with him.
That's a true story.
"Man, I'm just full of stories tonight."
*it WAS a true story. He met up with Ben Kweller for a photo shoot after having chipotle with his work partner the artistic director.
1:53am-
I kind of like walking home at 2 in the morning. When the city is quiet and calm.
4:22am-
The problem is, I get really pumped about life at 4 in the morning...?!
But at 8, 9, 10 and 11am, sleeping sounds like the best thing I could do with my life.

12:36pm-
Just detailed my computer.
"OK."

Me: "ANOTHER story? Or just A story...?"
"do you want to hear a story or not?!"
Me: "Ok...!"
(Ben Kweller came on the radio.)

“One measure of friendship consists not in the number of things friends can discuss, but in the number of things they need no longer mention.”
-Clifton Fadiman
11:03am-
"Hey, this is my friend from LA. he came in to see the show last night."
"Oh ok. Hi."
".....Did you call him 'shnookums' last night, or something..?"
"Ahaha!! You heard that??!"
"Haha!! I was half asleep... I didn't know what I heard!!"
"Ha!! Yeah, just wanted to make you at home."
((When I walked past him last night he stirred a little bit so in a motherly voice I said 'gooodnight shnookums...'))
4:24pm-
UPS just brought me some school books!
1:21am-
Sylvia texts saying that 'everyone hates her' among other things.
One text to several people and finally i win an argument.
It is the friends you can call up at 4 a.m. that matter.

“A great deal of laziness of mind is called 'liberty of opinion'.”

11:58am-
I have to use non-dairy powder creamer.
Reminds me of home.
12:40pm-
Just saw a mouse run across the kitchen!
3:31pm-
Needed some outside time but needed to do some computer work. So I rearranged courtneys room so I could sit with my legs out the window.
Hope she doesn't mind.
7:23pm-
Courtney came by to get some stuff and on the way told me about an A.W.K show she heard about. That's a friend.
8:22pm-
First time to leave the house today. Feels nice out out here.
11:11pm-
Just watched Say Anything.
I approve.

1:43am-
Just watched The Graduate.
Also very approve.
A new favorite even.

(Somewhat surprising that this film, that involves an affair, heavy innuendo and a strip club scene is rated PG. Hah!)
1:57am-
Looks like the doughnut monster has been through here.

2:16am-
Listening to a large group of young kids with terribly hilarious bad language be very loud on the other side of the train. (Got a those adjectives??)
At least there's another person secretly laughing too.
2:40am-
There's someone sleeping on the couch.
When I turned on the lights I for some reason thought it was a giant sloth.
you dont realize how afraid you are of slow tropical animals until you think one is sleeping on your couch.
