I tried to get up at nine to help Nolen pack, but that didn't happen.
Now, finally her and Morgan are gone. Heading for a bus to upstate NY.
And I'm going back to sleep.

Walking down the street with chris. I've got an apple pie in one hand and a tomato in the other. I just realized how weird this probly looks.

5:27pm-
Chris and I keep ending up on dates. This time we walked through the farmers market, went by a photo store, and then went to a grocery store and got some more supplies for Mexican burgers. Cause instead of going somewhere for lunch we decided to make burgers.

Still cooking, we made:
Burgers- ground beef (and a little left over turkey), taco seasoning, black beans, orange bell peppers and ground pepper.
Then on the 'grill'.

Chipotle sour cream mix dip-
Sour cream, taco seasoning, verde sauce, ground chipotle stuff and taco sauce.

Topped with Mexican shredded cheese that we had (cause we thought the 'sharp cheddar' we got tastes like cheap American cheese) and sliced tomatoes.

Served with funyuns and later an apple pie and and icecream.

We decided to name these particular southwestern burgers
"Boy Howdy Burgers".

6:19pm-
The chipotle sour cream was the biggest hit.
Soooo gooood.
Better as a dip than a topping.
Chris said he wants to put it on everything he ever eats.
I said i wanna carry a jar around with me every where I go.
Chris said he wants to wash his hair with it.

In honor of Dennis Hopper on the day of his death, we decided to watch Easy Rider.

Shay cut my hair.

The bus wouldn't show up, so we walked. Now just another 16 blocks to Nolens.

Nolen is trying to pack for a week and has to be up and on the bus by 11.

I'm cutting pineapple for the first time in my life. Ever.

Just got assigned as the DP of the team I'm in. Cause I'm the one who just bought a legit camera.
And the director, too. Cause no one else knows how to talk to people...?
And maybe the editor (but hopefully not!) cause I know how and have the software.

Some guy just made everyone in the subway a group of jolly friends by yelling "BALLS AND WEINERS!! BALLS AND WEINERS!!" as soon as the door opened.
I laughed too.

12:25am-
I heard a rumble coming up behind me as I was walking across the street and looked back at a lady barreling across the street pushing a stroller. Then the stroller hit a whole or something and she flipped over it and went sprawling!?
I turned around to help (obviously), and grabbed her things off the ground on my way. We set the stroller up right and uncovered the baby..
I held my breath as she pat the baby on the cheek to wake her up..
.......pat harder and said her name...
............slapping her and yelling.....
FINALLY the little girl started to move around and wake up...
Wheew...!? I noticeably sighed with relief.
I almost had a heart attack!!?!

But, whew. it was cause they said you lick the salt off your hand, drink, and then the lime. I thought that was weird.
Also- apparently i watch to many movies. A worm in tequila is only a real southern, REAL tequila thing... So... That makes it a little less cool..

LATE MORNING-

finally made myself get up to go to the studio.

stopped for coffee at the dunk n donuts near the studio.
they recognized me and knew just what i wanted.

i did some color correcting on the studios Final Cut Pro.
i think i own most of this color program.


AFTERNOON-

the duprees and the d'eramos texted me (seperately) telling me they were going to mexican food places.
made me really want some mexican food.
i laid on my bed and swore i could smell chips and salsa coming in from the window..

i have eggs.
decided that i'd make an egg sandwich.
if the eggs were still good.


EVENING-

i rearranged my living room while planning on making an egg sandwich.
i asked a lot of people how you can tell when an egg goes bad....?

shay and nolen came home for just long enough for me to get a jacket and we went to El Paso.
the restaurant.
it was really expensive and not as good as texas.

NIGHT-
i took off my pants and a handful of sugar poured out of my pocket. it was from dunk n donuts...

i learned that you can tell if an egg is bad by putting it in water and seeing if it floats.
sinks and sits vertical - fresh.
sinks with the bottom up - getting old.
floats - bad.

It was Prince of Persia.
And it looked really cool, like a real life Aladdin. But the story was choppy and drawn out..

I heard once that one way to be successful is to never eat alone.

Last night i decided I was going to be more.... Noticable.. at work/school. Talk more, be a part of what's happening and not just sit around until they ask me if I wanna do something.
It didn't take much more than being open to people and Anistasia told me about a whole project that's happening and what I could do to see if I could find a way to raise funding.

Ended up at b&n. There are some elemtary kids reading some poetry they wrote. Some of it is pretty good!
Then a kid got up there, with a poem about Michael Jackson being the best. He stuttered and could barely read it. But, when he finished the music came on and he put a hat on and danced to "just beat it".
Even the people who couldn't hear his poem, they knew what he was talking about.

Last night I made a list of things to do. Apply for jobs was on it. Here and starbucks. I didn't feel like doing that. But, it's on the list. So I did.

Finally got up before noon and started getting things done!

Home from doing laundry.
Man, I love the idea of having a washing machine IN your HOUSE..!?!

There's a family, mother father and some children, awkwardly singing in the subway station. And singing christmas songs...??
(and I'm not even sure if they're really singing that much... Sounds like mostly a tape player with childrens voices that they're singing over...)

Laid on the couch. Finished the chapter I was reading. Passed out.

I took several 20 minute naps until I finally got up to take a shower and go to bed.

1:28am-
Of course I'm not sleepy now.
Got to reading all about cameras and how to work em.
Would it be foolish to buy an expensive piece of equipment that I didn't know how to use assuming that I would figure it out....?
Cause i want to.

Someone is playing some slow smooth jazz from a saxophone somewhere down here in the subway...
I feel like a character in a black and white 40's movie. I need a long trench coat, a hat and a cigar.

12:20pm-
The studio is still locked.
And no one is answering the phones. (nobody is there.)
So I'm going home and calling in sick.

12:51pm-
I couldn't help but notice a big black man dressed really well.* I was looking at the tiny intricate design on the cuff link and he said 'you like that.' in a deep Barry white voice. He was referring to his big silver watch with gold trim and white, blue and grey diamond looking things on the face of it. 'I was looking at these cuff links. Very nice.' He laughed a little.
My stop came and as I walked past him to leave he said 'have a good day, man', in his slow, radio voice at the same time I said 'have a good one' with whatever Texas drawl I may have.
It's good to see someone who's friendly AND dressed well every now and then.

*He was wearing a blue paid shirt; matching green tie and pocket handkerchief with blue designs; a light grey vest and a dark gray vest (which sounds dumb but it looked cool); and blue cuff links with that same design but green.

Midday-
Someone was giving out little boxes of cereal and gave shay as many as would fit in his bag...!
Now we need to find someone who's giving away milk...



11:21pm-
On my way to meet Courtney and Katherine-
Some guy I walked past:
"ya need some weed?"
"ha..! No thanks, buddy."
"it's goood...?!"

11:41pm-
At a Japanese place.
I'm definitely about to order squid legs.

4:43am-
Did good at being productive after 1 am.

-Made a hot air balloon model to hang in the kitchen.


-Looked up stuff about the camera I want to buy.. (Canon 5d mark II.)


-Made a bulletin board out of cardboard.


And recorded 4 tracks to a song. In my underwear!!
(one of the reasons i love having my own house!)

Picked up my pants from being hemmed and at chris' experimenting with sloe gin now. Tastes like kool-aid.

7:38pm-
Cooking burgers now.
Apparently me and chris decided to eat some burgers on the roof. So were making em to take em up there.
This is a test run.
Next weekend were gonna have a real cook out on my roof with more people and make a cookout out of it.

8:32pm-
Shay shows up to eat some burgers.

11:34pm-
We sit and around and did nothing.
And now I'm leaving cause chris is getting real annoying.
I can only take so much.

To be fair, apparently I annoy him quite a bit as well.

3:53am-
To figure out what i owe, I just mathed out a recipt of the food we bought.
Even figuring up the sales tax to be 8.840701% of the non-food item that I DIDNT buy.

..........At least I can go to bed knowing no one could swindle me on bogus expenses..

It was hard to stop sleeping this morning.. But I finally made myself get up and leave and I made it to the studio, with coffee, by 11:35.
Don't want to seem over eager....

Sitting around a table during 'lunch' they started joking and then got serious about the pot head who schools here. (started when the school called the studio because he didn't pay.)

4:18pm-

Heading out to home depot.
Ran to catch a train a didn't even think that it wasn't the one I wanted to be on.
But I made it.

JUST got done with school/work.

Two flight down I realized it was gonna be really hot outside and had to go back up and change.

The door 'bell' kept clicking until I realized what it was...
Answered the door half naked with a cup of coffee. Some people were going around seeing who all spoke Spanish in the neighborhood.

Just showed an inspector around the house pointing out leaky faucets and windows that don't lock. Still half naked.
...IT'S MY HOUSE! I can do what I want!

Subway is PACKED and about to leave. I jump in against a bunch if people and then have to pull the rest of my bag in.
