4/1/10

“We sometimes encounter people, even perfect strangers, who begin to interest us at first sight, somehow suddenly, all at once, even before a word has been spoken.”
-Fydor Dostoevsky

12:05pm-
A fresh month.

Heading to go look at a different apartment in the same building. Hopefully it's close to as good as the last one.

2:02pm-
The new one was actually JUST the same as the other one. Just on a different floor. So hopefully it costs the same.
Also- God bless it- there's an even bigger one that would work better...! So we'll see how much that one is. But I don't want to get to excited yet.

7:35pm-
Just stepped out of a professional BNI meeting. After watching and observing (and even talking about myself cause that's part of it) I mostly rounded it up to be a grown up group of 'friends' in a professional world.
To explain it best- When I didn't take an application to join, the lead guy asked if I liked it and what I thought. I said, "it was good to see all these people who do different things come together and meet in one place. But, I can make my own friends for free."
Might have seemed a bit rude now that i think about it, but thats what they were! Grown ups who want more friends (as in 'connections') to get more business done. They even have a 'facebook' website where you join (for a price!) and can meet people, follow them, invite them to be your 'friend' and even look through their friends... I wanted to say "you know, us kids have the same thing! it's called 'facebook'".
All in all, it was a good experience. I met and talked to a lady (I know. You don't have to say it. "THAAATS THE POINT!") who runs an entire production company herself. She was the only one there who was loud and funny and would blurt things out (reminded me of tiff). But, he whole time I was thinking iiiii could make one of these organizations myself! Me and shay and chris... And the more people we meet who have a talent or business and who we are actually FRIENDS with... Except we won't call it BNI. We'll call it Big Time Buddy Hangout.

12:18am-
An old lady on the other side of the track is sitting on a bench and throwing up.. Gross. But sad.
The punk looking kid with a mohawk who noticed her is being nice and got someone over on the other side to go help her out.
